Patricia Fox

Patricia Fox has worked in civil service for the past 26 years and for the Department of State Lands (DSL) for over 10 years. Prior to becoming the Reserve Manager at South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve in the spring of 2024, she was the DSL manager for the Aquatic Resources Management Program. She managed 32 of Oregon’s 36 counties, supervising wetland conservation, waterway uses, and removal fill permitting programs. Patricia has a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology from the University of Georgia focused on coastal ecology and soils; Master of Environmental Science from Alaska Pacific University focused on tree canopy science; and both a Winemaking and Vineyard Management Associate of Applied Science degrees from Chemeketa Community College. While working at DSL, Patricia and her husband owned and operated a hard cider and wine production company for several years in downtown Salem, meanwhile managing their five-acre farm. They now enjoy a slower pace of life on the South Coast and enjoy hiking, kayaking, gardening, and travelling.
